Togbi Sri II is one of the exceptional Ruler of Anlo State who brought modernisation into the affairs of the people of Anlo. His works and Legacies still exist and remembered today. Togbi Sri II was born on January 01, 1852 and died on January 01, 1956. He died at age 104.Togbi Sri II was the Awoamefia (ruler) of the Anlo people of South East Ghana from 1906 to 1956. Sri II attended the Bremen Mission schools in Keta before working as a clerk in Sierra Leone and the German Cameroons. Upon becoming Awoamefia, Sri II modernised the role, developing it into a constitutional monarchy. He abandoned the traditional practice of living in seclusion, and removed the ban on the wearing of European clothing in Anloga.
