THE GHOST PROJECT ; ANLO COMMUNICATION OUTFIT FINALLY SPEAKS

Aggrieved Communication Outfit for Anlo Constituency is not happy about how the incumbent NPP government is handling the long over due Keta Habour Project promised by Prez. Nana Addo Dankwa since 2016.

Shugah Mawuli Anthonio who is the Communication Officer for Anlo Constituency vehemently questioned, ''Where is the much anticipated Keta Port?
Is it also going down as one of the failed promises of the president?''

He disclosed, the promise and fail syndrome has touched down on the land of the people of Keta. In an attempt to lure the good people in Southern Volta, he made a mouth-watering promise of constructing a port in Keta, the Sand City.
Hon. Shugah added, ''He, William Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo, decided to marry the beautiful people of Keta. So, he came on a promising spree, took them to bed, and only activated the libido of these beautiful women through political foreplay not knowing it was all an attempt to grab power. This juicy promise to construct a Port at Kedzi-Agorta was like embellishing cake with honey since it would boost the economic activities in Keta bringing relief to those around and Ghana at large.''

Almost Four years on and still counting nothing much has been done to keep hopes alive for the good people of Keta, meanwhile, their second term in office is about to fall as a star from the sky. The only physical structure that can be seen at the site are containers and signage but to many, this is a "mirage" or for lack of a better word a "camouflage"  which is a sign of despair.
The Anlo Communication Team revealed, Mr. Kwaku Offori Asiamah the transport minister signed the appointment letter dated March 19, 2019 and asked the Director of Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority for it implementation. It is purported the CEO for the Port Dr. Alexandra Adusei Jr. draws over Eighty Seven thousand Ghana cedis (Gh¢87,000) per month not to talk of bonuses nor other renumerations for no work done.
Millions of cedis is spent on utility bills, maintenance, 33 staff also enjoying salaries, allowances, bonuses and only God knows if there are other hidden renumerations. In reality, indeed, such projects do not take effect as events but as processes, but for how long shall these processes be at the bud stage? After the feasibility study, what next? Why is the project being delayed only to be nipped in the bud should power change hands? It is very glare that, the NPP party led by the deceitful, beguiling and wooing president is just scamming the vulnerable people of Keta.

He also stressed, the people of Keta and its environs have keenly observed there are people behind the scenes milking the state all in the name of the Port.
We have seen placards displayed on national television during the 63rd independent anniversary on 6th March 2020 at Kumasi thanking the president for the Keta Port. We have intercepted a letter dated 17th November, 2022 by Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority demanding a 3.5 bonus basic salary to workers at Keta Port which does not exist. When it backfired, a Memo was raised to disregard it because it has been withdrawn. If not for the vigilance of Ghanaians, these monies would have ended up in the pockets of party apparatchiks for no work done.
He could not fathom why we are spending lavishly on projects that do not exist nor bring any profit to the state?
Adding all these tragicomedies simply tell us the NPP government led by Nana Addo and Bawumia is only throwing dust into the eyes of the citizenry by making unnecessary noise about helping the people of Keta and Ghana at large.

The Communication Officer concludes, ''If truly, they are bent on giving the people of Keta the port, we need action. Now or never! and since there are claims that work is being done, we challenge them to publish the work done so far to clear the misconception.
Volta Region deserves its fair share of the national cake. If that will not be done, then, this administration should not use the name of Keta to steal from the state coffers.''
