Check the Day Jesus was Born

Across the globe , christians celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ on 25th December yearly. It is a day christians including traditionalist and moslems believe Jesus Christ was born.

But the question is how true is this date? Is Jesus really born on 25 December?

The date of birth of Jesus is not stated in the gospels or in any historical sources but most biblical scholars assume a year of birth between 6 and 4 BC.

Now lets look at the motive behind the 25 December Celebration.

Foremost, The Roman Empire, before it recognized Christianity, celebrated the rebirth of Sol Invictus (Roman god of the sun) on Dec. 25, a date which coincided with the Roman festival Saturnalia, when people feasted and exchanged gifts.

Secondly, The Roman Christian historian Sextus Julius Africanus dated Jesus' conception to March 25 (the same date upon which he held that the world was created), which, after nine months in his mother's womb, would result in a December 25 birth.

These are the two main reasons why we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ on 25 November.

Due to the unknown birth date of Jesus, some churches like Jehovah Witness doctrine do not support celebration of Christmas.
