Serial Callers In Anlo Constituency Ready To Buy Indelible Ink For EC Come 2024 General Election

Huge Suspicions which surrounded the 2023 District Level Election in Ghana made most Ghanaians vigilant in the coming 2024 General Election to ensure free and fair Voting as the 1992 Constitution of Ghana entails.

According to Serial callers in Anlo Constituency, Indelible ink has been used in Ghana in previous elections to mark voters as proof of voting and to publicly show that a particular person has already voted and cannot vote multiple times. And was a risk management and control tool to ensure elections were free and fair.

The Communications Officer for Anlo Constutuency, Hon. Shugah Mawuli Anthonio adding his voice , eulogize the serial callers for not being spectators but rather passionate callers in the Constituency and beyond.

Though He also contested and won the just ended assembly election, he is at sea due to EC's inability to provide indelible ink for the District Level Elections held on 19th December, 2019.

He added,''Indelible ink has been part of our electoral processes since the inception of our democracy, so we are demanding that tradition to continue.''

The aggrieved Serial Callers Even though are willing to buy indelible ink for EC, they are also asking for tangible reasons EC is eliminating the indelible ink in coming elections rather than telling them it has outlived its importance.

They strongly believe the BVD system does not operate in isolation , that humans operate them, that is where their fear is. And they are hereby, calling for the use of the indelible ink as a prove of vote being cast.

They continued to ascertain If it is about the cost, they are ever ready to pull resources together to help buy it for the Electoral Commission. And moreover, If it is about their fingers, that should never be the headache for the EC, it is their own fingers so they are absolutely ready to dip them into the ink.

They humbly entreat all Members of Parliament not to approve any budget of the EC if indelible ink is eliminated from the electoral Process.

They finally, call on National House of Chiefs, Catholic Bishops' Conference, Christian Council, Peace Council, CODEO and all those who matter in the upcoming election to call Jeanne Mensah and her apparatchiks to order now! To avoid plunging our democracy into a mess.
